The whole project was driven by the need and the desire to share this
invisibilized reality of BIPOC youth in the countryside of Québec. Within a “cinema
format”, our main goal is to create a relatable portrait of people of color’s matter in
Quebec regions and in that matter create a wider range of what it is to be Québecois.
The film is also a response to the homogenic white French-Canadian representation in popular media, because still in 2021, we can barely see a proportionate and honest representation of BIPOC in the media. This is why we decided to stand for a personal and a social cause by unifying our creative visions and embodying positive leadership. The color of this short film is quite singular. It is an act of care to break the isolation and confused feelings that can be left when being invisibilized.
