The African Student Association of Concordia is collaborating with CEED Concordia and ACSioN to have widely renowned sustainability expert Thione Niang hold a conference in the Hall Building Alumni Auditorium. Thione Niang is the co-founder for Akon Lighting Africa, creator of the Give 1 Project, and was ambassador to the U.S Ministry of Energy under the Obama administration. The focus of the conference will be on sustainability, development, and investment in Africa. The aim is to educate on the importance of long-term sustainability and to encourage the youth to take action. His last book on social entrepreneurship will be available for purchase and outlines steps we all can take to make a difference.
