Divest Montreal is a coalition of groups and individuals from Montreal who are working towards having the city of Montreal divest from the fossil fuel industry. Its purpose is to mobilize the city’s population through democratic means to decide collectively what type of future Montrealers want to invest in.
The organizer that SAF’s funding will enable Divest Concordia to hire will help coordinate between Divest Montreal and Divest Concordia, and facilitate outreach to different student groups around Montreal in order to ensure that both campaigns work towards mobilizing against the tar sand pipelines.
